The Fine Art and Antiques Sale on Thursday, 2 May will include a 1931 Leyland Lioness fire engine, entered by direction of the Gloucestershire owner. This fire engine has been fully resorted and is expected to attract interest from collectors throughout the country. Philip Serrell has always been associated with the sale of Royal Worcester Porcelain, and the demand for painted fruit at the moment is possibly as high as it has ever been. Philip has been asked to sell a very rare set of fruit plaques produced by the factory in a limited edition of only 15 examples. The plaques are painted by Harry Ayrton, and will carry a pre-sale estimate of £6,000 – £8,000. They are expected to attract worldwide interest.
