    Philip has over 40 years of experience in the world of antiques, fine art and auctioneering. A self-confessed ‘failed’ Geography teacher, Philip entered the world of antiques and fine art when he joined a firm of local estate agents and cattle auctioneers. Finding his interest piqued in the eccentricity of the provincial auction world, and he followed a path which led him to buy his current saleroom and business. His passions lie with Worcester porcelain from the 18th, 19th & 20th Century. Philip travels the length and breadth of the country to undertake valuations of single items or entire collections.

    Charles has been with Philip Serrell’s for over 10 years, managing and coordinating the saleroom. He joined the company after graduating from Edinburgh University where he studied Fine Art. Working his way up through the ranks, Charles has a good knowledge of antiques which spans all specialist areas. He is in attendance at the saleroom valuation days.

    Sophie first joined Philip Serrell Auctioneers as a school leaver before she embarked on a three-year course at Southampton University where she attained her BA Hons in Fine Art & Chattels Valuations. After working at other provincial salerooms, Sophie returned to Philip Serrell’s over 10 years ago. Sophie has a broad knowledge of the antique market and specialises in silver, ceramics and objets d’art.

    Alison has joined the saleroom team after a lifelong career as teacher, and will no doubt find the saleroom staff more challenging than any group of pupils that she has ever encountered.

    Tom joined Serrell’s after many years working in a managerial capacity in the banking industry. He oversees all areas of financial management and has a good working knowledge of the antique auction industry.

    Porter

    Tim joined Philip Serrell’s on a part-time basis whilst also running his own successful printing business. Tim has developed a good working knowledge of the antique auction business and assists in the smooth set up of the auction sales.
